as someone working in criminal defense. You have NO idea how often people post photos of their crimes or gang affiliation on facebook myspace. Drives me crazy!
Don’t forget to tell defense counsel to refrain from commenting on the judge’s competency on Facebook or instant messenger. You think I’m joking, but a couple attorneys actually created a screen name on instant messenger calling the judge a Nazi and submitted the transcript as evidence. All were held in contempt, even the law student clerking for them at the time. Stay tuned for more anecdotes.
Hilarious! I just changed my facebook status to “bar study in the library.” I promptly checked the courtoons before actually studying, and just about pissed myself from laughing. Dirty looks from around the library.
